We’ve had the good fortune in this part of the world to avoid social media hacks; through best practices or, more likely, good luck, Gulf-based brands have not experienced the kind of disasters experienced by the likes of Burger King and Jeep.
This wasn’t the case however for Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways, which had the misfortune of tweeting a rather strange image on the advent of Eid last week. The picture grab below speaks for itself.

Was Jazeera Airways hacked by Durex? Or was this a case of the agency not properly handling multiple online accounts?
Jazeera Airways quickly pulled down the visual and posted an apology claiming the account was hacked. The apology is below.
Was this a case of the account being hacked, or did the company and/or its agency tweet the wrong image? The Durex advert doesn’t seem to be a hacked image, but rather an advert. Was it a case of too many accounts being handled at the same time? What do you think?
